Love Is Blind

TophLola and Toph were found at a feed store in Mexico and brought to Friends of Cats with severe eye infections that resulted in surgical removal of their eyes, eyelashes, and all nearby glands. Still, they quickly showed that being blind would not slow them down.

“My daughter and I had been volunteering at Friends of Cats off and on for over a year and we always searched out these two special cats. They were simply beautiful! They had no fear or hesitation, and if you did not know they were blind, you would assume they were as normal as any other of the cats. Lola and Toph are two of the most adaptable animals I have ever known. They run through the house chasing each other—or one of our other cats—as if they could see. Lola successfully hunts flies in the house—even our seeing cats don’t do that—and Toph is the adventurer. They have truly blessed our home, and we cannot imagine our lives without them.”
