Go, Bertie, Go!

The “Usain Bolt of tortoises” raced into the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest of his species. Bertie, who lives in Adventure Valley Park in the United Kingdom, ran an 18-foot course in 19.59 seconds, beating the previous record held by Charlie—another tortoise from the U.K.—which had gone unchallenged since 1977. Bertie has become a celebrity at the park and has his Guinness World Records certificate displayed on the wall in his enclosure.
