About Day of Giving

San Diego Humane Society’s Day of Giving, first held in 2016, is a special day that unites our entire community to celebrate our shared compassion for animals in need and support the work of San Diego Humane Society.

Your support during Day of Giving will ensure we can provide high-quality veterinary care for vulnerable animals, protection from animal cruelty and neglect, rescue and care during natural disasters and emergency situations, critical care and rehabilitation for wildlife and so much more. This work is only possible with help from our entire community. Your gift today will help provide rescue, relief and refuge to nearly 50,000 animals who will desperately need it in the coming year. Please give now.

In addition to being a fundraising campaign, Day of Giving is a special opportunity to highlight the many ways we can support animals and the people who love them. At each of our locations on Thursday, June 27, San Diego Humane Society staff and volunteers will be hosting activities, sharing information about our programs and services, and answering your questions about the work we do! Check out our “Visit Us” page for full details and a schedule of activities.

About San Diego Humane Society

The mission of San Diego Humane Society is to create a more humane word by inspiring compassion, providing hope and advancing the welfare of animals and people. We have served San Diego County since 1880 and are proud to be the safety net for animals and people in our community.

With campuses in San Diego, Escondido and Oceanside, we provide vital services to animals and people, including shelter and adoptions, investigations of animal cruelty and neglect, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, education programs for youth and adults, safety-net services for pet families in need and so much more. We not only care for animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our unique programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives.

San Diego Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or SPCA.
