SAVE THE DATE! SUPER special rescue beneficiary this month, our friends at Parrot Education and Adoption Center (PEAC)
Here are the items that PEAC can really use that will be your “entry” ticket to our event, please make sure do NOT bring anything on the NO list, right below it!
THINGS THAT ARE THE YES LIST:
Toys – for large birds. Like Amazon parrots, cockatoos, macaws. Not for small birds like parakeets, cockatiels or conures
Gift Cards to Petco or Petsmart or food and Home Depot so they can buy wood to make toys
Parrot Pelleted diets like CAITEC (Petco) or Zupreem – Medium sized pellets preferred, large size ok too. NO SEED DIETS PLEASE
Whole Raw Nuts in Shells (often sold in bags or bins this time of year. Like raw walnuts in shell.)
Sweet potatoes
Winter Squash or Hard Shelled Squash
Whole hardy deep colored greens and veggies like carrots, kale, parsley, dandelion greens, broccoli, some “summer squash” like zucchini.
Dried Quinoa or/and whole beans
Deep rich colored fruits like oranges, citrus fruits, pomegranate, that will last for a while. Some apples ok.
THINGS THAT ARE ON THE NO LIST, THAT THEY CANNOT EAT AND CANNOT ACCEPT:
Bird Seed
Sunflower Seeds
Peanuts
NO BIRD SEED, SUNFLOWER SEEDS, OR PEANUTS PLEASE. THEY CANNOT ACCEPT THESE AS THEY ARE NOT IN THEIR BIRDS’ DIET AND MAY BE HARMFUL. PLEASE, NO SEED OR PEANUTS.

They have FANTASTIC toys, and toy making parts, we love them! They also carry Harrisons pelleted diets and other pelleted diets our birds eat like Zupreem.
Even Though PEAC will have birdy or two, this is still a doggy birthday party! But if you have birds that like dogs, you are welcome to bring them if they feel safe around dogs.
PEAC attend many large-scale adoption events with hundreds of people and their dogs, and they only bring their birds who like crowds.
We will have a special tent set up with a wire fence, and please ask that anyone with excited pups not enter and inquire on adoption with any of the PEAC volunteers and they’ll be happy to provide you with information to make an appointment at a later date.
Remember, our Paws Parties are Pet Birthday Parties for a cause, and everyone must donate an item from PEAC’s Bird Food or Bird Toy donation list to attend. This list posted above will grow as we approach the event date.

This same day we are so excited that the San Diego Sockers are designating December 22nd as “Traci’s Paws Appreciation Day” at their home game at 5:05pm!
They are also allowing us and our guests to walk the field in the Parade of Champions at 4:30! If you want to participate click the link below for details on time of arrivavl and where to meet!
We will be giving tickets away to the first few people who bring PEAC donations, but you can get your discounted tickets to the game here, AND The San Diego Sockers will give a portion of the ticket sales back to Traci’s Paws:
