During the summer months, the Escondido Humane Society (EHS) sees an influx of animals coming through its doors. To help find homes for these furry friends, EHS is reducing adoption fees by 50 percent for the entire month of July. Animals included in the special are puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, and bunnies.

“Summer is really a great time to bring a new pet home. Kids are off from school and parents have more time, which is the ideal scenario for bonding with a new pet,” said Escondido Humane Society Executive Director Sally Costello. “If you have been considering adding a pet to your family, now is the perfect time to visit the Escondido Humane Society.”

Regular adoption fees are $55 for puppies and kittens up to 6 months old; $42.50 for adult dogs and cats (6 months to 7 years); $27.50 for senior dogs and cats (animals over 7 years old); $22.50 for rabbits.

People can visit the Escondido Humane Society website, www.escondidohumanesociety.org, to view animals available for adoption or meet them in person at the shelter, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. For more information, call (760) 888-2247. The Escondido Humane Society Adoption Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
