From barbecue to baked goods and gourmet franks to grilled cheese, the San Diego food truck trend has all bases covered in bringing mobile meals to the hungry masses.

food truckNow, your furry friend can get in on the four-wheeled action, thanks to Fido to Go, San Diego’s “gourmutt” food truck, which serves hand-crafted, gluten- and allergen-free cookies and frozen yogurt treats at dog-friendly apartment complexes, street fairs, festivals, and animal events throughout the county. With a menu featuring 20 flavors of sugar-free frozen yogurt—including venison, peanut butter, and maple bacon—and a wide assortment of cookies, from pork chop and applesauce to pumpkin and lobster, even the most finicky Fido can find something to snack on, says owner Steffany August, who opened the country’s second truck (the first is in Chicago) in mid-2014. August makes all the cookies by hand and says, “The cookies are fantastic and the frozen yogurts are so good they are flying off the truck! We have so many unique flavors that people are excited for their dogs to try, and then we also have beef and chicken for the less adventurous.”
