DOTI_27x41 (2)We could all learn a life-changing lesson on resiliency from rescue dogs, and their ability to love and trust, even after unthinkable suffering. The unconditional love and adaptability of an animal has spawned a film pairing rescue dogs with seemingly unlikely two-legged friends: prisoners and parolees. A new documentary, Dogs on the Inside, highlights Don’t Throw Me Away, a program that partners rescue dogs with inmates in a minimum security Massachusetts correctional facility for an eight-week foster program, allowing the prisoners to provide training and socialization for the pups, who in turn provide unconditional love and a reminder of the potential for rehabilitation, offering both a second chance at life on the outside.
