Our Escondido Campus serves Escondido, Poway, San Marcos, Rancho Peñasquitos and Rancho Bernardo communities. Our Oceanside Campus serves Oceanside, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Vista. SDHS Humane Law Enforcement officers are in the field throughout those jurisdictions seven days a week responding to various animal-related calls, ranging from strays to injured wildlife to removal of a pet from the home of someone who has been arrested or hospitalized. The county Department of Animal Services serves unincorporated areas, including Ramona, Alpine, Bonsall, Campo, Fallbrook, Jamul, Julian, Spring Valley and Valley Center. Camp Pendleton has a shelter on base that provides animal services. The cities of Coronado, Chula Vista (which also serves Lemon Grove), El Cajon, La Mesa and National City provide their residents with their own animal services.
