Guinea Pig Birthday Party
Donating your birthday is just one of the fun and fulfilling ways to help SDHS.

It’s easy to get started

There are many animals in need out there. So it’s great that there are so many ways you can motivate peers, friends and family members to help rescue vulnerable animals, provide critical care, rehabilitation, medical attention or a safe home.

You can create a personal fundraising web page, where you can post photos and videos and explain in your own words why helping animals is important. San Diego Humane Society’s online Fundraising Center makes it easy to send emails alerting others to your efforts and encouraging them to get involved.

You can also raise money through athletic events, memorials and community events like bake sales, car washes, raffles and silent auctions, and milestones such as graduations and weddings. Kids love birthday party fundraisers! Into arts and crafts? Put your creativity to work for a good cause and donate the sales proceeds.

But when all is said and done, the simplest way to get people to help is to ask. Whether in person, over the phone or in a letter, reaching people one-on-one is the most personal way to let them know what SDHS means to you, and how they can be a part of it, too.
